Course syllabus
The purpose of this course is to prepare teachers to create courses using open educational resources.
Course Structure
After orienting to the content and expectations, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of OER. The course mapping process will prepare you to transform your course into a "No Cost OER Textbook" course. By mapping the content you already use (or intend to use), you will know how much work is ahead and be ready to adjust to meet your goals. You will then get acquainted with licensing, locating, adopting, revising, and creating OER materials.
This course is designed to allow you to work at your own pace in a facilitated environment.
The course is structured as a series of Modules, each of which builds upon the content covered in the preceding Module. At the start of each Module, you will be provided with an introduction to what you need to accomplish to complete it. If you are unclear on how to proceed, ask! You should consider all of the module elements required for successful completion.
Course Completion
To receive credit for completion, you must complete ALL of the assignments and activities in the course by the Course end date and earn an 85% Final Grade.
Communication
The fastest way to reach the facilitator is through the Canvas Inbox. The facilitator will respond to messages within 48 hours.
Grading
There are rubrics in all assessments. Assignments will be graded within 7 days of submission or by the end of the course.
